The form of the building was designed from the start to enhance the performance of the design and programme. Performance not only refers to the building’s environmental and operational effectiveness, but also to the way in which the development programme is accommodated in a functional and rational manner. The final form and aesthetic of the building expresses this inherent performance.

Various forms and typologies were explored in conjunction with the programme and initial design concepts to determine which typology would be best suited. A cyclical process was followed to find a balance between what is expected of the aesthetic and performance of the building. The Building is designed not only for Energy Efficiency but also Thermal Comfort. Energy modeling on projects is conducted to ensure that a buildings design is optimized for its specific climate and space use. Balancing of thermal comfort, natural light levels and energy are also achieved through an energy model.
